Drinking On Trains Probably Leads To This
Phillip’s Killer Clown Massacre Ad = truely-melt-your-face-off awesome
You know those introspective moments you get when you’re riding the train through the city and gazing wistfully at the hundreds of moments in peoples lives you briefly catch a glimpse of as you speed along the track, all the while your headphones filling your head with the playful sounds of some magnum opus, like a soundtrack to your life?
Well now there’s a beer commercial kinda like that. It’s pretty good.
This commercial was produced by DDB London and shot on board the El Train in Chicago, in what seems like a very expensive production that involved some actual creativity and talent to make. Between this and the melt-your-face-off awesomeness of Philip’s Killer Clown Massacre Ad (I’m still not sure what this ad is selling but I’ll buy it), it’s possible that a higher standard for quality is being set in the advertising world. I’m still not sure how effective things like conceptualism and artful mise-en-scène will fare against the proud American tradition of three hapless dudes stumbling upon highly unlikely clothing-limited pool parties/sorority pillow fights/sexy golf tournaments?, but at least Budweiser has managed to capture the imagination of the very lucrative ME demographic. Very lucrative because I’m an alcoholic. Thanks Budweiser. Waaaasssap!
